High School Course Collaboration Days

Course Collaboration Days 
High school math teachers, including SPED teachers, come together twice throughout the year to experience and learn pedagogy and content to support student-centered instruction, become familiar with revised core curriculum, and plan units in site or cross-site teams. 
​For 2018–2019, math teachers from all high schools are invited to attend one Course Collaboration Day each semester. 
We support math teachers in planning collaboratively around how to implement the core curriculum in their own classrooms, including:
  • Previewing upcoming units and doing math tasks from those units.
  • Thinking about how topics are developed and spiraled over time.
  • Incorporating pedagogical strategies to support productive and equitable student discourse.
  • Considering pacing that balances the need for the development of conceptual knowledge with the need to teach all of the core curriculum units over the year.​ ​
